A local builder that buys land to build on.
They Buy Land is the land and house buying arm of Forma Home Builders, a Charlotte-area home builder serving Union, Gaston and Mecklenburg counties and nearby South Carolina.
Builders, not middlemen
Forma Home Builders buys houses as-is, renovates them, and builds new single-family homes on land it buys, including new construction in Monroe and across Union County. They Buy Land is simply the front door for landowners and home sellers who want to deal directly with the builder.
We are the end buyer, not a wholesaler. We do not assign your contract to another investor, so the company that makes your offer is the company you close with, through a licensed closing attorney.
Why we are buying more land now
We are growing the new construction side of our business across Union County and Gaston County. That means we need buildable lots and small acreage in places like Waxhaw, Weddington, Monroe, Indian Trail, Belmont and Mount Holly, and we would rather buy directly from the families who own it than through layers of middlemen.
The people behind it
Forma Home Builders is led by partners Michael Vittatoe and James Scott. Both are Charlotte-area real estate finance professionals and managing partners of 1st Advantage Mortgage, so they spend their days on the numbers behind homes: what they cost to build, what they sell for, and how buyers finance them. That is the same discipline we bring to pricing your land.
How we work
- Straight answers. If your property is not a fit, we say so quickly. If listing would net you more, we say that too.
- Written offers with the math. You see how we got to the number.
- Respect for family land. Many of the parcels we buy have been in a family for generations. We take the time to get everyone comfortable.
- Local diligence. We check the real constraints: county septic rules, utility capacity, zoning, flood maps and access.
